This year, Fjord Equinox, our annual company retreat took place in concert with an unprecedented event in which we invited our N. American & EMEA clients to engage in the co-creation of Fjord’s 2018 design trends. Our research illuminated the tension that exist in our lives, represented by our observed behaviors that are at odds with one another.
Challenge
The ask was to create stimulus for guided group conversations around emerging trends - an experiential activity followed by discussion within a 3 hour time slot.
design approach
In collaboration with Fjord leadership, I took initiative in planning, design, production and setup of an explorative gallery walk, and logistics of a client working session. For the design artifacts, I expanded upon the event design theme to create a cohesive visual language to tie in the overall experience. The fodder for gallery walk and discussion was sourced and designed from hundreds of entries submitted through dscout, to understand what people were doing differently this year as they live, learn, work and play.
